Hannah Benoit, Singapore Math Teacher and Trainer
Hannah has been employed by Morgan Tutors since January of 2011. Upon hire, Hannah was eager and excited to receive specialized training in the Singapore Math methodology. She is now a fully trained Singapore Math instructor who teaches both elementary and middle school students. In addition to teaching Singapore Math to students, Hannah also provides Singapore Math number sense and fact fluency workshops for teachers and parents.
Hannah attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a BS in Pure Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences. During her college years, Hannah gained extensive tutoring experience. It was through this experience that Hannah discovered that her true calling was not in actuarial sciences but in a career in math education. Currently, Hannah teaches after school and summer Singapore Math programs and tutors a wide range of students from 3rd grade level through college level math. Hannah is currently seeking a master’s degree in education and a master math teacher certification.
Hannah is a gifted teacher with years of math tutoring and classroom teaching experience. She tutored students in after school math tutoring programs in Austin Independent School District’s Group Excellence Program. Hannah was promoted to supervisory role with the responsibility of overseeing and training ten tutors. She developed training materials for the tutors that helped struggling students in grades six through twelve attain mastery of grade level and below math skills and improve their math test scores.
Hannah has also tutored students in college level math courses at Austin Community College ranging from introductory math through Calculus 2. In addition to tutoring, Hannah has wide range of classroom teaching experience. She has taught third through ninth grade math classes in a once a week class setting for home school students.
In her free time when she’s not teaching math, Hannah enjoys running, exercising, reading, and spending time with her family and boyfriend.
